We all react differently to different medications. Though the same dosage pill might work perfectly for another person of the same age it may not work for you. Doctors do go by symptoms, age, gender and prescribe appropriate medication but our human bodies are uniquely designed that may cause adverse reactions to some drugs.

Though this unfortunate experience might have shaken you from inside, look at the lessons on how you can prevent such mishaps in future. When in Doctor’s office question more about the diagnosis. Help yourself by helping them. Most often we assume that Doctor might know better and stop asking questions. They are just another human person and cannot read our minds or body but an expert in medical science to prescribe medications that suppress symptoms or cure something. It is okay to over-communicate here.

some of it may be.. can I start with half dosage? what are the known side effects? Do I need to take after meal or before meal? I have Diabetes and how does it interact with this medication? can I start with 1 pill a day and gradually increase the dosage to desired level as my body adjusts to it?

Though most of these are available elsewhere in internet or 6 page pamphlet that comes with pills. When you are sick, it is impossible to focus attention on those micro print. So better question more with Doctor or Pharmacist. One needs to be lucky to have a good doctor who is patient friendly.
